Commercial Reviews
"Dutch Oven | Seal Plush | Banana Slicer" from Amazon
Campaign: 5-Star Theater w/ Adam Driver
Review Date: 2024-12-06
These are pretty good. Fun to watch and entertaining. They also give off a good Christmas vibe. Adam Driver is great in these. Not a ton of replay-ability, but does keep you on your toes to pay attention just in case it's a new one that you haven't seen before.
"Baking Challenge" from Geico
Campaign: Caveman Returns
Review Date: 2024-12-03
This commercial feels like it was AI generated. This is the kind of commercial you see on TV in passing and you're not paying much attention and it's fine, albeit, a little annoying. But, then once you pay attention and you start to see how weird it is. Andrew Whitworth and the host (not sure what his name is) both act extremely strange. Like why not make the host actually seem disappointed in the caveman's bake? The caveman's bake doesn't even look like a bake, it just looks like a science fair project. Also is Andrew Whitworth not playing himself in this commercial? Why is the caveman boasting that his cake has Andrew Whitworth in it when he's standing right next to him and seems to be annoyed that he baked the gecko? This commercial is a fever dream.
"Fairest Calls" from Geico
Campaign: Caveman Returns
Review Date: 2024-12-03
Another awful Caveman Returns ad. Geico can't seem to make a single one of these any good. Also, this would never be a segment during a real football game. Usually it seems like the commentators have to restrain themselves from saying how they really feel about the refs most games.
"All Day" from Geico
Campaign: Training Camp
Review Date: 2024-12-02
Another awful commercial from Geico. This commercial is utterly not funny at all and Geico should be embarrassed.
"Guess" from Geico
Campaign: Caveman Returns
Review Date: 2024-11-27
Just awful. Not funny, repetitive, annoying. This commercial and campaign is one of the worst right now. It only rivals the Geico insurance employees at an NFL combine style event in how bad it is. Also, has nothing to do with insurance.
"Unstoppable Dreams" from Honda
Review Date: 2024-11-25
Very clever. Good commercial even if you're not paying that much attention and miss what it's doing, but rewards those who pay attention. Good spread of cameos and talent without relying on it. Not reliant on emotional pull and minpulation. Also not outright trying to get you to purchase anything. Overall, exactly what a commercial should be. This is the current gold standard.
